1 L’EGO BLAST FIXED FIRE
The EGO Blast system is one of the most effective halon replacement products available on the market today.
The fixed series aerosol generation method of the EGO Blast system provides sufficient driving force
for rapid discharge and efficient distribution of the extinguishing agent.
The discharge from the EGO Blast system is a whitish gas with a density similar to air.
The small size of the particles (0.1 micro-metre) ensures a three-dimensional distribution with long suspension times.
The particles released do not absorb moisture and are therefore neither conductive nor corrosive.

2 CONCEPTION ET FONCTIONNEMENT DU SYSTÈME EGO BLAST
The EGO Blast series comprises sealed aluminium containers with inner and outer cylinders.
Inside the non-pressurised cylinder are: the solid aerosol-generating compound,
the solid chemical refrigerant and the ignition devices.
When a fire alarm signal or electrical input is applied to the device via either:
an activation generator,
a linear heating cable
an external manual switch,
The signal activates the aerosol-generating solid chemical compound.
This creates a chemical combustion reaction to start producing an aerosol.
The extinguishing agent consists of dry chemical microparticles, mainly potassium carbonates and gases of carbon dioxide, nitrogen and water vapour.
The activated aerosol particles are propelled through a solid chemical coolant for rapid and efficient distribution of the aerosol in space.
3 METHODS OF ACTIVATING THE EGO BLAST
– Automatic operation
As soon as the ambient temperature exceeds the activation temperature of the cable: 60° or 105°C
the device immediately activates the EGO Blast unit.
– Manual activation
The units can also be activated using a manual activation switch connected to the control box.
– Activating the alarm system
If connected to a fire detector (smoke detector), the alarm is triggered as soon as the external fire alarm system detects
